I love love love the Gatlin Brothers. Larry, Steve, and Rudy. Love their country stuff. Love their Gospel stuff. Pretty much, I'm a huge fan.

So it doesn't seem at all weird to say that last night I found myself down in Bakersfield at the Kern County Fair to hear them.

It DOES sound weird to say that we were treated to VIP status! Free parking, free fair admission, personally led to our free FRONT ROW seats, and after the concert, a FREE meet-and-greet. Yes, I hugged them and had my picture taken with them!

Mom, Dad, Kristen, and I made the trek yesterday, starting from home around 2:45pm. We ate at Carl's Junior - not Jack In The Box - and although we didn't get the sliders we wanted, we had a great time.

Parking at this fair was ridiculous - a HUGE amount of people come! However, this is a really HUGE fair - probably 4 times bigger than what I am used to!

Front row seats were absolutely amazing! We could see every detail...even the crazy fans throwing roses up on the stage!

Song set was great... Houston, I Don't Want To Cry, Denver, Help Me, I Just Wish You Were Someone I Loved, All The Gold, I've Done Enough Dying, She's a Broken Lady, I'll Fly Away...and so many more! Kristen and I sang along...a lot!

Meeting them was cool, but really rushed. Basically a hello and a picture. But still fun.

And then we stayed at a Holiday Inn Express and laughed at a pushy man named Jimmy and his wife. And laughed at Dad's jammies. And laughed at some lines in A Few Good Men. And finally fell asleep.

And then we stopped at Jantz' Bakery on the way home...my very favorite place in Atwater...awesome lunch and a bagful of goodies to bring home!

I LOVE that we do really random, seemingly foolish, things like this!

Recipe Shower

My grandma threw a Recipe Shower for me the other night. Basically, everyone chooses a favorite recipe, and then adds a pan or utensil or ingredients for making that recipe. It was so fun, because people were so creative! Plus, I now have all kinds of new dinner ideas! : )

Grandma's house was beautifully decorated! We had cheesecake with cherry topping!

Napa Weekend

Neil and I had a wonderful time in Napa a few weekends ago. We were there for Pat and Dana's wedding - so beautiful! Great friends, great food, great massage, great wedding, great fun! : )

Garrett and Sarah!

It's been said that Garrett and Sarah's wedding was such a HAPPY wedding! That is so true! Everyone had such a great time! Here are some pictures from the evening:
